MEET BOB GARDNER
BOB GARDNER's paintings reflect the
contemporary west. His knowledge and feel for the natural movement
and structure of animals is evident and has become the trademark
of his work. His paintings have a contemporary feel - airy and
uncluttered. He leans toward realism with great attention on composition
and use of subtle color, which brings an unmistakable softness
to his work - a consistent style that is immediately recognizable
from across the room.
Bob was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1943 and spent most
of his childhood in Illinois. He studied art at the University
of Colorado and the American Academy of Art in Chicago where he
worked as a commercial artist for twelve years before turning
to fine art.
Bob lived in the Sierra mountains in northern California for
over 25 years and now resides in Bakersfield, California. His
passion for horses is reflected through his commissioned equine
portraits.
His work is now being shown in galleries in Arizona, Wyoming,
New Mexico, Texas and California. He also participates in important
invitational art shows in the west. Bob's paintings have been
chosen for the cover of Paint Horse Journal and he has been featured
in California Horse Review and High Country Magazine. One of his
paintings featuring a young foal, entitled "Someday",
was chosen as the official poster of the American Paint Horse
Association's 2000 World Show in Fort Worth, Texas.
The romance of the west, as it is today, is alive in the mind
of this talented artist and reflects through his painting skill
to excite the new as well as the seasoned collector.
