August 27 began a new chapter in my life with my marriage to
Leonard C. Burklow II. Leonard and I will reside in Pleasant
Grove and we plan to remain active in the Paint Horse industry.
Our dear friend Jan Teisseire is recovering from a fall when
she was knocked down by horse being led nearby. We wish Jan a
very speedy recovery.
Fellow horseman, Lanny Powell is getting around quite well
as he is recovering from a broken hip incurred in a mishap with
a yearling filly. It was good to see Lanny at the Red Bluff show
Our dear friend Norene Bowen passed away at age 89 after a lengthy
illness. Funeral services were March 4. Norene was a life long
resident of Pleasant Grove.
Memorial services for our friend, Rusty Paris of Paso Robles
were held January 30, 2010. Rusty was a very special man and
a very talented trainer - he will be missed. A memorial scholarship
in his name has been established at APHA.
We have researched the health benefits of negative ions in the
