Fred Tabor began training and showing halter and performance
horses in 1967 and quickly earned the reputation as a devoted
horseman who constantly strived to improve himself and his horses
in the rapidly changing show world. In 1974, Fred recognized the
potential for growth in the Paint Horse industry and has focused
his energy in promoting the Paint Horse throughout the nation.
He has trained and shown numerous halter World Champions, Reserve
World Champions and California State Champions. Fred owns and
stands OBSESED
TO IMPRESS (a World
Champion APHA halter stallion and a leading sire). IMPRESS TO OBSESS (a World Champion son of Obsesed To
Impress) and several clients' stallions stand at Tabor Ranch.
He has also been instrumental in teaching many amateurs how to
get the best from their halter horses as well as themselves.
In addition to his public
training and breeding operation, Fred founded the Greater Los
Angeles Area Paint Horse Club (in 1981). was a member of the California
Coordinating Committee for over ten years before moving to Texas,
and serves as a Director for the American Paint Horse Association
. In his role as Director, he has Chaired the Breeders Improvement
Committee and has served on the Nomination Committee, the Promotions
Committee and the World Show Committee.
